It wasn't until her recent stint as an American Idol judge that my attention was brought back to JLo. I can never deny how often I used to listen to her album 'This Is Me.. Then' way back in 2003. Almost all of the songs in the album were mellow—far from the usual upbeat tunes from which she became known for.
She personally wrote most the songs that which gave me the reason to buy the CD. The purchase was
worth it indeed. While driving on long highways or amidst the traffic, cleaning my bedroom, or simply doing nothing, I never ran out of appetite listening to it.
Now that JLo's bouncing back to the music scene, I'd like to check out her new songs. I just hope she wouldn't eventually become too preoccupied with showing off too much skin; such has become the trend nowadays, thanks to Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, and recently, Jessie J. Does someoone really need to be almost naked and dance like a total whore (sorry for the not-so-decent word) in a music video while singing a song about real love and self-empowerment? I don't definitely think so. I can never ever agree to that.
Since JLo was awarded as the 2011 Most Beautiful Woman by People Magazine, I hope this would give her ample motivation to prove that being beautiful doesn't mean wearing tiny, skimpy clothes in a music video but carrying one's self in a feminine, confident and acceptable manner instead. I won't mind saying how she wows me by her looks everytime I watch AI. She's simply gorgeous, happy, contented—BEAUTIFUL inside and out.
The 'fashion' trend among today's female artists has made me realize that I should be appreciating JLo's dancing skills. Focusing on varied styles, she doesn't have to maintain a whore-like (sorry for that word again!). Let's altogether watch this latest music video of her and see if my wish do come true. You be the judge this time.
